CJ: (11-13 year old male character) CJ is an only child with only a father in his life. He has a real "whatever - leave me alone" attitude. It doesn't help that his father has two jobs and isn't around much. CJ has become a "computer junkie" and has his Gameboy with him at all times. He is very sarcastic and quick to put down the other children in the play. By the end, however, he has been drawn to Zak, and through him, has learned to accept and communicate better with everyone. Originally written for an unchanged voice, the role has and can be adapted for the changed voice. It must, however, still be a strong theatrical singing voice, presently written from low A to high C or D#. He must be able to move well.
