LISA'S MOM (able to play the mother of a 13-14 year old) Lisa's Mom tried to "make it" in the entertainment field (singing) but didn't make it, though from her singing voice, we see that she probably had the talent but not the luck. End result: she has a hardened view of that occupation, and discourages her daughter from being, or trying to be a singer. She's a tough lady, often played by larger women, though not necessary. She also plays one of Zak's Helpers. Lisa's Mom sings in the opening and closing numbers, and as Zak's Helper, sings a duet with Zak, "Echo," dances in the "Back to the Basics" Rap, and is again featured in "Attitude" with the two other Helpers singing and dancing back-up... a bit Andrews Sister-like. She needs to be a strong mezzo with a good belt to sing the show music as well as her featured 40's jazz style song. Low A-flat to D-flat, an eleventh higher.
