WILLIE: (be able to play an 8 - 10 year old) Willie is a sweet, lovable boy who's mom has programed his life away, meaning to give her son all the best she can. Harvard is her goal for him. Willie is pretty sick of running from school to homework club to baseball practice ("I can never hit the dumb ball!") to piano... etc. He just wants to be a kid and play. He is, however, a pretty smart kid, already well read, and he is the kid in the show every parent in the audience (we hope) will want to hug and tell everything will be just fine. He must be able to move/dance and have an unchanged voice, singing low A to D, an eleventh higher. We are looking for a strong, clear, young musical stage voice, not a boy soprano, classically-trained voice. Probably should be less than or not too much over 5' tall.
