WILLIE'S MOM: (be able to play mother of a 10 year old) Willie's mom, wanting the best for her young son (like Harvard!), has him totally programed into all sorts of activities. With a sweet smile, she checks his homework, his schedule for the next day, ask about homework club, sports practices and reminds him of piano lessons...etc. She truly means well and thinks she is doing the best for her child. Quite protective. She also plays one of ZAK's Helpers. As Willie's Mom, she sings in the opening and closing numbers, and as Zak's Helper, she sings and dances back-up for "Attitude", dances in the "Back to the Basics" Rap, and is featured in a lovely ballad, "The Gift of Today," about taking time to enjoy every moment. A versatile mezzo, she usually sings the higher soprano notes in the ensemble pieces. (to a high G) Her solo ballad goes from B-flat below middle-C to E, an eleventh higher.
